The food was a real highlight, with a superb cook and menu. The hotel itself was remarkably comfortable for such a no-frills price, and most of the staff were friendly, though not the owner. I’d happily come back to this gem of a hotel in a town that’s a gem in its own right.

The place has so much history, and the service was much better than the older reviews suggested. It almost felt like there might be new management, though I’m not sure.

We went for lunch before checking the reviews, unfortunately. The elderly man who served us was extremely unfriendly. The bill was wildly overpriced: 10.50€ for two fried eggs and a handful of fries, with no sauce or anything. We only found out after paying that the six baguette slices served with the food cost another 1.50€.

After a long, cold day cycling, we were glad to find a nice, really warm room. The owner was a great host, and the typical food was excellent. The house red was delicious, and the coffee the next morning was very good too. Prices were reasonable. Recommended!

The elderly man working there was incredibly rude and unprofessional, and made the whole experience uncomfortable. The place was a complete nightmare. I’d never stay there again and would strongly advise others to avoid it at all costs. It doesn’t deserve even one star.
