In May it was very peaceful, and the place itself is really attractive to look at. Our apartment was fine and cool, not hot at all. It was clean, the linens were clean, and the bathroom and toilet had been disinfected. Still, maintenance seemed to have been neglected. The key got stuck and didn’t work properly. The television missed about half the regular channels, including Antena 3 and others. Our phones connected to the Wi-Fi, but there was no internet, so we couldn’t work on a computer or tablet if we needed to. The bathroom towel rack and door handle were both broken.

There were rodent droppings all over the balcony by morning. If the same broom and mop are used to clean the house and balcony before the next guests arrive, I’d be surprised if that didn’t risk passing on a dangerous disease. Apart from that, things were okay, though the Wi-Fi didn’t work. We were there over Carnival weekend, from Friday to Monday. When I raised the issue, the response dismissed my opinion because the reservation was in my wife’s name. I was staying there too, and the photos I posted show the apartment terrace.

We booked through Booking.com and paid 50% upfront. Work issues meant we had to cancel, but the owner refused to return the money. We spoke with him once, and he said he’d look into it, then blocked our phone. A month and a half later, after we had contacted Booking.com countless times by phone and email and sent bank statements, they finally refunded us under their guarantee. They had to pursue it themselves because they couldn’t reach the owner. The apartment was the one advertised on Booking.com, and that’s where we made the reservation. For us, the experience felt like a scam and caused a lot of distress. You don’t realize how awful it feels to be cheated until it happens to you.

The reception team were consistently friendly and helpful, and everything was clean and well kept. We spent a family weekend here, and it’s a great area for kids, with a play area inside the complex.
