Iberostar Selection Andalucía Playa

We spent five days here and came away with lovely memories. The views were beautiful, the pools were nice, and the food and drinks were good. The staff were kind and helpful. With a small child there wasn’t much to do, since only one small pool was available and there was no entertainment for little ones. We still made the most of it, and the stay was unforgettable. 🤗

The whole buffet team made us feel welcome, with an aperitif when we arrived for dinner and fresh orange juice and cava at breakfast. David and Jesus were among them. Ruben looked after us brilliantly on our second night, with great service and a sense of humour. And do say hello to the lovely woman at the cheese counter. She really knows how to help you pick something to suit your taste. Inma kept our room spotless, and we appreciated the fresh coffee machine and chocolates. We felt like VIPs, and the staff were so lovely that checkout was the hardest part. Jaime made a great first impression at check-in: relaxed, attentive, friendly and informative, with a generous surprise of chilled Freixenet Cava and delicious Macarons. We were also pleased to be recognized as IHG members. We hadn’t known about the affiliation, and enjoyed hearing the staff’s stories about working at Iberostar hotels around the world. Their experience really shows. The team seems dedicated to making each stay special, with thoughtful surprises along the way. Our room opened onto the pool terrace, with luxurious sunbeds overlooking the pool and sea. The room itself was another unexpected treat. The car was taken down to a cool underground car park, and although we’d planned to explore the area, we were so taken with the hotel that we didn’t use it again until we left. The buffet was superb: fresh oysters, prawns, salmon and langostinos, plus Asian, Grill and Chef’s Speciality stations. The grounds and building are beautiful, the entrance makes a big impression, and the sparkling pool sits right by the beach. There was live music and dancing on Friday and Saturday evenings, where we unexpectedly made friends with other dancers. We also went to Dunas Beach Bar. It isn’t affiliated with Iberostar, but the staff were warm and welcoming, serving cold beer, rebujito and good food. Highly recommended. We liked its atmosphere and decor more than those at Soul chiringuito, the one nearest our hotel. We absolutely loved our stay. Thanks for everything, and we hope to see you again soon!

We really enjoyed our seven-night stay. The all-inclusive food was excellent, with high-quality buffet meals and lots of variety. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, especially the bar team, who were brilliant with our group of 12 from the lovely welcome onwards. A kettle in the rooms would have been handy. It would also be nice to have an arrangement for local beach loungers, especially for the last few hours of the afternoon.

The hotel and grounds were tidy and clean, and the customer service was excellent. Sophie from the fit and fun team deserves a big thank you. She’s an enthusiastic gym instructor who was always happy to help. Reception made a big impression as soon as we walked in, with drinks and macaroons waiting on arrival. I’d definitely recommend the hotel for a relaxing, quiet holiday.
