For the price, everything was just right. The receptionist, Ilia, was especially kind and helpful, and was happy to suggest places to eat. The pool looked very inviting, though we didn’t use it. It’s lovely budget accommodation right on the seafront in unspoilt Benajarafe. I’d definitely come back!

Being so close to the beach is a real plus, and the location is great for a seaside holiday. The pool area never seemed crowded, and our room was decent, with good air conditioning. I did miss having a mini fridge. The uncomfortable part was dealing with the woman at check-in. She made odd remarks when we arrived and left, and barely greeted us in the lobby. Her English was quite broken, so as non-Spanish speakers we couldn’t always tell if she was joking or serious. We felt uneasy around her at times. Aside from that, the hostel is quaint, and the location and rooms were good. If you’re okay with what felt like little digs from her, it could work for you.

The homemade food was delicious, especially the chicken wings with BBQ sauce. Everyone treated us so warmly and were really nice. Thanks for such lovely service, it lifted our spirits.

The room was a bit small, but the balcony and view were lovely, and the cleaning was excellent. There was a shower and a small bathtub. The pool looked nice, though it was closed for the season. We didn’t really need it anyway, since the sea was only a two-minute walk away. The sandy beach was large and very clean. We got lucky with the weather at the end of February and even went in the water a few times. The desk staff were lovely too.

We had a cosy little room with a sea-view balcony and AC, and the hotel was clean and peaceful. The pool area was nice, the staff were friendly, and parking was easy and free. There’s also a bar and restaurant in the same building. No fridge in the room, which was the only downside. Good value for the money. We can recommend Esperanza. Patrik & Linda
