Hotel Spa La Casa Del Convento

What made our stay memorable was the team, especially Vicky, the spa manager. She clearly loves her work and was so attentive. She and her colleague gave us a relaxing massage that let us completely unwind. The hotel is charming and just around the corner from Chinchón's most emblematic square. Our room was spacious, elegantly decorated and spotless. There’s a small spa you can book for private use, with a jet pool, contrast showers, a foot bath and a Roman bath. The restaurant was spectacular too, with a varied menu of traditional food with modern touches. A wonderful experience, highly recommended.

The breakfast was delicious, and the kitchen staff were incredible, thank you for that. The reception staff were helpful too, and I know they do what they can. Still, they could have told me before I booked that my request wasn’t possible. I wouldn’t have made the reservation otherwise. I’d written ahead with specific dates and asked for a Tuesday-to-Thursday booking with two massage sessions and one spa session of an hour and a half. They agreed to everything, and I paid. Once I arrived and was shown to a tiny, dark room with a window facing a wall, I was told the two massages couldn’t happen until Thursday at noon because the therapists weren’t available before then. They only told me after I was there. It was a huge disappointment. They offered to swap one massage for a wine tasting, also on Thursday before I left. Great idea, right? :( I asked to move to a brighter room and have just one massage instead. I got it Thursday, an hour before checkout, so I spent two days in Chinchón without the relaxing time for myself I’d planned. The Wi-Fi never worked. They gave me several passwords, but none connected, so I had to use my phone to work from the room. The spa session I had on Wednesday afternoon was okay, but nothing special or memorable.

The location is hard to beat, right beside the main square. We booked the romantic package and loved the spa circuit. The massage was incredible, the best we’ve ever had, and the masseur was lovely. Our room was beautiful, with a great bed and a jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was superb, and the man serving us was very nice. The receptionist was kind and attentive too. They even welcomed us with champagne, which was a lovely touch. 100% recommended.

The service was really poor, and I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place. Our 2:30 pm reservation turned into a meal that ran until 5:30, with dishes taking so long that people ended up eating at different times. One ribeye was meant to be very rare but arrived overcooked and cold. We raised it, then waited 20 minutes to be told they were out of ribeye at €45/kg and could only offer one at €85/kg. They also dropped a croquette on the floor and didn’t replace it until we pointed it out.
