Hotel Antares

We asked for a room at the front because that side feels livelier, with live music from the hotel across the street every night. You’re also just steps from several beaches and the main part of town. Our room had a balcony, was spotless, and got cleaned daily. The service feels more like a resort, and the price is great for the quality. Magdalena at the front desk was so sweet and helpful, with great recommendations. They also have an airport shuttle for $20, which worked out great. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The room was really large and the air conditioning was fantastic. We had fresh towels, made beds, and a clean room every day, which doesn’t even happen at some 4-star places. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There’s no pool or outdoor lounging area, but the location is perfectly central. The bar at the front is lovely in the evening, whether you want food, a drink, or delicious ice cream, and the staff there are great too. This is not a one-star hotel!

For what we paid, I expected a much better stay and wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort. The room felt unpleasant, very old, and poorly looked after, with worn furniture. The balcony door was probably from the 80s or 90s. The bathroom was worse, outdated, not very clean, and in serious need of renovation. The toilet leaked when we flushed, and there was a hole in the bathtub tiles. The only good things I can say are about the cleaning staff and reception employees.

Just right for student travelers like us, with a great little room and really nice, friendly staff!
