The views over the village and valley were stunning, and breakfast was excellent. We only stayed a short time, but the place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and great value. The terrace menu was small but had plenty to choose from, and everything we tried was delicious. It felt like a four-star hotel with a more personal touch. You can’t drive right up to the hotel because the streets are too narrow. There’s parking at either end of the village, then a fairly easy walk with a few steep slopes. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as the best place to stay and eat in Chulilla.

The town felt safe and was easy to get around on foot, though having a car helps when you need more options. Many restaurants are closed much of the time, with very limited hours and little incentive to cater to tourists. We came for climbing and also got an authentic Spanish experience. The hosts gave us great suggestions for exploring the area, including València, and we really enjoyed the views from our room, slept well, and looked forward to breakfast. The hotel has a charming feel, beautiful mountain scenery and historic architecture, and a warm, welcoming energy. The whole crew was kind, approachable, and happy to answer questions or hear concerns. We appreciated how accepting they were of different cultures and languages, and their mission felt meaningful. It was lovely staying with them. I’ll miss the hosts and hope to return. Highly recommend, and thank you for having us ❤️

Olga was so helpful with what we needed, including storing our luggage and sorting out hiking trips. We loved the friendly, attentive staff and the hotel’s lovely views and location. I’d definitely recommend booking a room with a balcony.

From our room, the dining room, and the main terrace, we had amazing views of the climbing walls and Chulilla. We spent two weeks at Casa La Baranda and loved it. Olga and Martin were so welcoming and shared loads of useful local tips, like where to get locally grown vegetables, organic olive oil, and fresh mountain water from a fountain. The room was cosy, the mattress was very comfortable, and the shower had strong, hot water. I really hope to come back one day and maybe organise a yoga retreat there too ✨
