Cheap & Chic Hotel

Suzanna is the face and soul of this hotel. She’s attentive, always smiling, helpful, and so nice that just having her around gives you a good feeling about the place. If you don’t speak Spanish, it’s no problem; she’ll make sure you feel comfortable. Our top-floor room had a terrace that was great for a relaxed drink in the evening before bed. The hotel is quiet and right in the town centre, close to just about everywhere you might want to go. The interiors, design, and art give it a lovely vibe. Highly recommend it for a stay in the beautiful town of Ciutadella, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back!

Artwork by local artists is displayed throughout the hotel and is for sale. There’s no reception, but the self check-in instructions are easy to follow, and someone is there in the morning. Breakfast isn’t served, though fresh cake is available for free each day. Since you’re in the town center, there are plenty of nearby cafes. We especially recommend Can Padet, a quiet five-minute walk away in a little square, with nice staff and wonderful sweet and savory food made in their own laboratory. Cheap&Chic is a good place to stay if you choose beautiful Ciutadella, the island’s ancient capital, as your base in Menorca. It’s good value, with bright rooms in a modern, minimalist style, and the location is exceptional, on a pedestrian street about 100 meters from the cathedral, whose bells you’ll hear.

We really liked staying in Viento on the second floor. The room was big, with a queen-size bed, and both the bathroom and shower were stylish and comfortable. Downstairs there’s a coffee machine and always some cake, which was much appreciated. The wine fridge in the room was a little noisy.

The host/owner was nice, and the place is downtown Ciutadella. Still, I wouldn’t recommend it because the “double room” pictures on hotel.com might not line up with what you expect. For example, the little garden belongs to only one of the rooms. If you need a proper desk for work, you may get only a tiny table in the bathroom instead. Too bad.
