The location was handy, with the harbour, beach and restaurants five minutes away, a bus stop across the road and a supermarket two minutes away. The blocks of rooms around the garden and pool looked amazing. The pool was large with plenty of beds and got cleaned daily, though the side walls could do with some attention. The bar served drinks and snacks during the day. You could pay by card or charge it to the room and settle up at reception with cash or card. The rooms were large, with a well equipped kitchen including a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, two rings and cooking utensils, though we didn’t use them. The balcony was nice, but some trees and bushes were close to completely blocking the view and sun. The bathroom had good hot water and shower pressure, and friendly staff cleaned the room daily. We stayed a week, B&B, via TUI. Our room was in small blocks around the gardens and pool. The reception was clean, if a little cold in that chain hotel way. Food was mixed. The coffee from the machine in paper cups wasn’t great, and at the pool bar what arrived didn’t always match what we ordered. The goats cheese, apple and walnut salad had no apple or walnuts, another day we got wedges instead of chips, and when we asked for mayonnaise we were handed three empty bottles and told we could try. Not great customer service. Breakfast had lots of choice, including pastries, cold meats, cheese, salads, fruit, bacon, sausages and eggs, but staff seemed fed up and didn’t respond even when we said good morning or thank you. Tea bags ran out the first day and weren’t replenished despite people asking. Marmalade and jam ran out the second day and took three days of requests to replace. Silly things, but frustrating. The day before we left, cleaners seemed to think we were checking out. Cleaning products were left in the kitchen, and someone emptied our drinks from the fridge and threw away food, even though our clothes were still there. I told reception, but unfortunately they didn’t understand. It was a pleasant stay, but could have been better.
