Villas Geisan

The reception team were really kind and let us into Villa Ponent before 4 pm, which we appreciated a lot during a heatwave with our one-year-old. We were five, but the villa could suit a group of seven or eight. It has three comfortable, welcoming bedrooms with wardrobes and blinds, windows in each bedroom and both bathrooms, and separate air conditioning in the bedrooms and living room. The two bathrooms have bathtubs, shower gel dispensers, and a hairdryer. There was plenty of useful kit: a large living and dining room, a kitchen that isn't very modern but has the essentials, and appliances including a fridge and freezer, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, blender, iron, washing machine, and drying rack. There were also various utensils, plus soap, a bin, a Scotch-Brite sponge, and a dishwasher tablet. Outside, there's a flower garden, private pool, outdoor shower, hammocks, a big parasol, barbecue, and large table. One medium-sized car can park on site. It's in a quiet area near Ciutadella, with several coves nearby and a small supermarket close by. A few minor things could be better: the pool tiles get slippery when wet, so kids need to be careful; the TV is small and reception is poor, though we hardly used it; the sofas could do with replacing but are usable; and the knives are dull. Still, it was fantastic for a week's holiday.

We booked Villa Xarop for the peace and privacy of a private villa, so it was unsettling when a door was opened and someone came into the garden without warning. We had to call reception. They said this wasn't allowed, but the cleaning staff told us they routinely passed through to clean the other villa because the properties connect at the back. They also said the passage was private and they shouldn't have to use it. Nobody even apologized. I hope reception takes this seriously.

The beds were comfortable, and we had a very peaceful stay. It was lovely to spend time by the pool and be so close to the beach. There was air conditioning in every room.
