Lago Resort Menorca - Villas & Bungalows del Lago

The site itself was lovely, and there was no need for the usual rush to claim sunbeds with towels, though some of my fellow Brits still did it. If all the bungalows were full, I suspect there might not be enough beds for everyone. The restaurants around the harbour were mostly great. Big shout out to el pato, where we arrived as strangers and left as friends, with some Spanish lessons thrown in. A few sundowners at Don Carlos bar were a perfect end to the evening. We loved our bungalow, but may have picked a bad week for peace and quiet. One day the gardeners spent about 5 hours using petrol equipment, so the noise and smell were constant. Someone was also repainting the bungalows, and the awnings were being replaced with overenthusiastic hammering. The previous day had been cloudy, which would have been perfect for this work, but nobody was around. It’s a shame, as I’m sure it could all have been done before they opened for summer. There are 3 entrances, but either your wrist key didn’t work or the gates were left unlocked, so security felt a bit lacking. I’d love to come back, maybe to try a villa next time.

We’ve stayed at the villa bungalows del lago twice with our children, in 2022 and 2024. It’s a lovely, quieter family complex, and we love it here. The bungalow is stylish but laid back, and well equipped. Since our first visit they’ve refurbished it, adding new wooden furniture that fits the eco feel. You can see the pool clearly from the private terrace. The service and staff are amazing. We’ll be back again.

This property is tiny and packed with rooms, with the restaurant literally down in the basement. It’s surrounded by an asphalted marina and bad restaurants. There’s no service or amenities, and it feels like the hotel’s goal is to fit as many people as possible into the smallest space. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Fab week away. The beds were comfy, everything was clean, and the pool was great. The marina is just a 1 minute walk away. I’d go back.
