Menorca Bonavista

We had such a good stay that I’m already looking at going back this year. The apartments were clean, spacious, and well equipped, with gorgeous views overlooking the resort of Cala Galdana. A lovely, very helpful couple greeted us and showed us around, and the pool was clean and lovely. The peaceful resort was a treat too. You can walk down to the resort by road or take the shortcut with 172 steps, so it may not suit anyone less able unless they have a car.

That postcard view over Cala Galdana is what you get from this hilltop apartment, and I loved it. The place was clean and roomy, with a handy little kitchen for making food for our young child. We were there in the second week of August and didn’t miss air-conditioning, thanks to the natural breeze keeping it cool. The owners live on site and clearly look after the apartments. We’d happily come back. And thanks again for the Lego!

I booked a family stay for 6 July 2023 through the Menorca Bonavista website on 6 May, paying extra for the flexible rate so I could cancel. The terms allowed free cancellation before 6 June. On 26 May, with 11 days left, I emailed Bonavista clearly asking to cancel. They replied right away to confirm it was cancelled and that my card wouldn’t be charged. Then on 9 June they charged my card €2,042.50. When I got in touch, they said I hadn’t cancelled and claimed cancellations had to be done on their website. That process wasn’t mentioned on the website or in the booking confirmation. If I was supposed to use it, why didn’t they tell me when I emailed on 26 May? There were still 11 days to do it another way. I couldn’t find the supposed process on their site, terms, or confirmation email. They charged me after acknowledging my cancellation and assuring me there’d be no charge. Beware of this provider. Laura Duffy Maxwell

The staff were lovely, the views were wonderful, and their tips were great. I could happily have stayed all summer.
