The final bill seemed a little high to us, but we still felt the meal was well worth it and would recommend it. The place is a welcoming, no-fuss traditional Puebla house, with a pleasant wine cellar for a good glass of wine. Service was attentive and professional. The ingredients are handled with real care, and the rice dishes came out perfectly cooked. An excellent meal.

Driving to Clavijo near Logroño is a treat, with spectacular scenery, and the restaurant is iconic too. Inside, the owners are hands-on in both the kitchen and dining room, making it feel like a very personal project. Ana gave us the best service. The cooking is delicious, and the rice dishes are distinctive and worth savoring. Reservations are essential, so book well ahead. We had two individual paellas, plus half portions of spring onions and artichokes. It isn’t a budget place, and I suspect that isn’t what it aims for.

The food was delicious from start to finish, right down to the bread and coffee. The place is charming and unpretentious, and the service was both efficient and kind. I can’t think of a single fault. I’d come back and recommend it without hesitation.

We’ll be back. The asparagus was delicious, and I had the best coffee I’ve tasted in a long time. We tried the artichoke and langoustine rice and another rice with pig’s ear. Both were really good and completely different, so it’s a great place to order a few dishes and share. The setting is pleasant and unlike the usual restaurants.
