La Casa de Lucas

There were nine of us, and we all loved our stay. The owners were attentive, knew the area well, and gave us great recommendations. Breakfast was excellent, and the house and rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless. Two days felt far too short. There’s still so much of La Rioja for us to discover, so we hope to return.

Jose Miguel makes wonderful breakfasts, which you really shouldn’t miss. The owners are warm and friendly, making you feel at home, and they’ll help plan your stay and suggest the best places to visit in the region. The country house is beautiful, with every detail considered and decor that suits its surroundings. Everything is meticulously looked after and spotless. I’ll definitely be back.

Clavijo makes a spectacular arrival, with views of its rock and castle. I stayed in the “Cereal” room, one of five, named as a tribute to the harvest and grain. It was clean and had everything I needed, including a ceiling fan and mosquito nets on the windows. The rural cottage is lovely, full of farm tools and little details. José Miguel is friendly and approachable, always ready to pamper his guests. I’d gladly do it again.

The owner, Josemi, was incredibly kind and charming during our few days at La Casa de Lucas over Easter week. He gave us ideas for places to visit and suggested routes to suit the kind of tourism we wanted in La Rioja. Clavijo is a lovely village with a beautiful Moorish castle. The house was comfortable and welcoming, and the rooms were lovely. Highly recommended.
