Palacio de Luces, Small Luxury Hotels

The room, meals, and thoughtful service all made our stay lovely. What stood out most, though, was the remarkable calm we felt as soon as we stepped onto the grounds. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we changed our itinerary to stay longer.

We especially loved unwinding every day in the heated pool, with its peaceful atmosphere and adjoining sauna and steam room. Breakfast was cooked to order, with Spanish favorites, and the staff served it cheerfully. Our spacious, spotless room had everything we needed, and I’d suggest booking a suite in the main building. The staff were friendly, skilled, and welcoming throughout our stay at Palacio Luces. Parking is right by the front door, and we also had a fantastic meal at the on-site restaurant, Tella. We’re already hoping to return for a longer visit. Thanks to everyone at Palacio Luces for making the stay memorable.

Dinner was a real highlight, with excellent food and service. The breakfast room also has a gorgeous view, but the food there was disappointing. The hotel itself is lovely, and the rooms are fantastic, though the staff seemed unhappy and not especially well trained. We were left with used wine glasses instead of fresh ones, and reception was rather inefficient. It’s a mixed experience.

The pool, gym, and spa are excellent, with a good selection of treatments at reasonable prices. Staff also coordinate the free EV charger so another car can use it once the previous one is charged. We found the staff helpful, friendly, and efficient, and the food, breakfast included, was excellent. The dining room is beautiful and has lovely views, though we would have liked to eat outside if the weather had cooperated. Our huge room in the Palacio section was beautifully furnished and came with thoughtful extras, including delicious chocolates. The hotel combines a modern interior with a traditional palacio exterior. There are many attractive coastal towns nearby, although parking for people with mobility issues is somewhat limited. We hadn't visited this part of Spain before, and would happily come back and stay at Palacio de Luces.
