Hotel San Vicente

We found the staff really friendly, and the location was excellent. It was very reasonably priced too.

The staff were welcoming and polite throughout, and I want to give them credit for that. But the management and upkeep made the stay a disappointment. On the first night, things were quiet. At dawn, light came straight in because the blind might as well not have been there, and sleeping after that was impossible. The bathroom had no extractor fan, so odors lingered. There weren’t even basic toiletries like toothpaste or shaving foam, which seemed surprising for the price and quality. On the second night, we could hear ordinary conversations from adjoining rooms because the soundproofing was so poor. The doors were also noisy and ill-fitting, and had to be slammed shut. Then, at the end of the stay, I found two cockroaches in the bed, one on the pillow. Waking up with insects crawling on you is disgusting, and that alone is enough for a very poor review. The employees did their best, but it’s clear the owners aren’t investing in maintenance, deep cleaning, soundproofing, or pest control. The hotel needs renovation and much more attention to hygiene and guest comfort. Until the owners take real action, I can’t recommend it to anyone looking for rest and quiet.

The location is good, but for this price there are plenty of other hotels with a working shower and no sewage smell. Here, the shower leaked, the floor was cracked, and the whole room flooded. There’s a plumbing problem, and the sewage odor stayed through the entire visit. The interior room had a tiny window facing a wall only 20cm away, where pigeons slept and made noise all night. The door was broken and wouldn’t close, though they did come and fix it. Awful, I wouldn’t come back.

The receptionist was especially friendly and helpful, even though we didn’t catch her name. The service was very good, and we had a pleasant stay in a decent room in a good location.
