Apartamentos Plaza

The room was spacious, bright, and nicely decorated, and the building is just two blocks from the riverside. Getting in was easy, with all the access details sent ahead of time. One of the best rooms we stayed in on our trip through Spain. I’d happily recommend it to anyone heading to Córdoba.

Restaurants, a pharmacy, and a supermarket are all nearby, and the location made it easy to live like a local. From my window I could see a small square and its lovely fountain, which was a pleasure to look at. The building has an old European feel, while my spacious room and large bathroom were well kept. There’s no elevator, and the narrow, dark stairs take some care to climb. On check-in day they emailed clear instructions and helpful photos for getting into the room. It was easy enough to follow if you paid attention. I’d stay here in Cordoba again, as long as you’re comfortable with stairs.

The location was very good, but the apartment itself was a waste of money and looked nothing like the photos. After handing me the key, I never saw staff again, and reception stayed closed. The furniture seemed straight out of the 1940s: the marble bedside table was cracked and broken on the left corner, the coffee table and TV table were dirty and stained, and a rattan chair had a hole in its back. There wasn’t even a cup in the cupboards. Getting to the apartment meant climbing 32 very steep stone steps. Someone in one of the apartments held a party all night, so I got no sleep. When I returned on Sunday afternoon, the bed hadn’t been made and the towel hadn’t been replaced. The listing photos are a sham. You should visit the place or take it off your site. I’ll have to think seriously about using Expedia again. At the very least, I should get my money back and the owner should hear how bad it is. I’m seriously considering taking my story, with photos, to the media. I hope you respond.

The balcony looked out over Plaza del Potro, a small, quiet square, and the apartment was roomy and comfortable. It was pretty clean, too. La Mezquita is less than a 10-minute walk away. I stayed at Plaza last December, and I’ll book there again if I return to Córdoba.
