Hotel Posada de Vallina by MiRa

The room was pretty noisy because its window looked straight onto the corner cafe’s outdoor tables. The location, though, is excellent. Breakfast was a big disappointment and really tainted our stay. We had specifically noted in our reservation that we needed gluten-free food, but the staff weren’t prepared. We asked for gluten-free bread. The first attempt was burned in the microwave, and the next was so hard it couldn’t be eaten. We ran out of time to try again because we had to leave for a guided tour. We’d had the same kind of bread at other hotels in Andalucia, where it was heated just fine. There’s no breakfast buffet, just three tiny tables in a corner cafe. It was too cold to sit outside, and no one explained how breakfast worked when we checked in, so it caught us by surprise. Coffee and croissants, or even cake, might suit you, but we needed gluten-free options and there weren’t any. There was no fruit, yogurt, or boiled or scrambled eggs. Cheese and ham arrived after about 15 minutes. At first, one poor waiter was handling all the orders alone and doing his best, though two more staff showed up later. I’d expect a basic offering like that from a corner cafe, but not a hotel. It wasn’t worthy of a three-star hotel.
