Novotel Barcelona Cornella Hotel

For our first Barcelona trip, we wanted a reasonably priced place for a few nights, and this worked well. The room was comfortable, clean, and serviced daily, and the fridge came in handy in the hot weather. Staff were friendly and attentive, the lobby was relaxing and nicely designed, and breakfast was well stocked with cereal, pastries, hot dishes, fruit, bread, juice, ham, and cheese. The location was great, reasonably close to the airport and a handy 20-minute walk from the metro. It helped make our first visit a good one, and I'd recommend it.

The staff are easy to find and really friendly. After a late finish to my business calls, I went down for a burger and beer without expecting much, but the burger was fantastic. The restaurant was full of people chatting and enjoying themselves, and breakfast had the same lively, happy feel the next morning. There were good options, and I’ve taken to having pan con tamate with cheese and a nice coffee. A great way to start the day.

I’m back here for work for the second time this year. The rooms are clean, and both breakfast and dinner are decent. The problem is the heat in the room. With the central heating, there’s no way to cool it down, and opening the window brings in too much outside noise. I had the same issue on my visit a year ago, so I really hope they sort it out or turn the heating down by two or three degrees.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, though they felt a little basic and worn. The lobby and shared spaces, by contrast, look modern and well cared for, clearly with thought put into them. I had a pleasant stay, and the service was faultless. The location works well if you don’t need to be near the city centre.
