Hovima Atlantis

The kitchen was handy, and apart from these issues the place was okay. But a warning: don’t drink the tap water. I got really bad food poisoning here. The location is good, though the rooms felt a bit old and dirty, if that makes sense. The beds were awful, so we ended up moving to the couch. Both had broken springs and dips in the middle, so you kept sliding down. The walls were very thin too. We could hear people next door talking and using the toilet.

The poolside bar by the office, Claire is on his pool, has a reasonable choice of food and drinks. It’s also open in the evening, with a set meal at a bearable price if you’d rather stay in the complex than try one of the many nearby restaurants. Most of the apartments are privately owned, though the hotel also offers a few lower quality units. If you can stay in a friend or acquaintance’s private apartment, it’s a nice complex. It’s not especially child friendly, as inflatable toys, Lilo’s and messing about in the pool are frowned upon. Getting a sunbed can be tricky too. Regulars seem to claim their spots with towels before 10 am, sometimes an hour before the beds are unlocked.

La Pinta Beach is close by, and a nearby hotel offers delicious breakfasts and dinners. I stayed in a spacious two-bedroom apartment that was cleaned every day. The reception team were friendly and helpful.

We came in early September and had such a lovely, relaxing break. The place felt cozy and welcoming, and we had a wonderful time. We’ll definitely choose this hotel again on our next holiday.
