Hotel Esmeralda Maris by LIVVO

Room 525 was in the best row, and its 58m2 layout worked very well for our family of two adults and one child. The terrace had a wonderful ocean view, though we could have used a third chair. The bedroom was large, the bed comfortable and the wardrobe spacious. The bathroom was big and had two windows. The kitchen was unusually well equipped, with pots and pans in very good condition. There was even a sponge, cloth, water, wine and two bars waiting for us, though there should have been three for three guests. Thank you! The apartment isn't new and could use some freshening up, but it was clean. We only used housekeeping once because they came very early, around 8:30-9:00. The location is great if you want to be away from things, with beautiful beaches and Sotavente, Cofete, Morro Jable and Oasis Park nearby. Parking under the hotel wasn't easy, though there's a large gravel lot that gets crowded too. A few issues: the cupboard under the living-room window smelled moldy, and the air conditioning did too, so we turned it off. Luckily we didn't need it. Wifi didn't work in the apartment, only on the inside terrace that we hardly used, and our request to fix it didn't help. The entrance door could seal better. During strong winds on the last two days, the apartment roared and sand blew in through the gaps. All the same, we recommend the place.

The private spa is lovely, and you can rent it for €10 per day for a two-hour slot. Make sure to ask about the charge, though. No one told us until we left and saw it on the bill. We had a great stay, with excellent service, a clean hotel and friendly staff. We were disappointed to pay an extra 200€ for a sea view that wasn't what had been offered. We were shown another room, but it didn't suit a family with small children, so we stayed in room 216, where the kids had a swing in front. We still paid the extra 200€ and didn't get a refund.

If you're after a restful holiday, this is a very good choice. The hotel and island were both really calm, just what we needed. There's not a lot around apart from the beach, so don't expect loud concerts or much else nearby. Our rooms in Spain were among the best we've had, with plenty of space, a sea view that helped us unwind and a kitchen very suitable for cooking. Breakfast could have had a few more options.

A quiet, clean and peaceful place, made up of spacious apartments and bungalows near the edge of town. There's not much around beyond beaches and mountains, but there's a secret best restaurant right on the ocean shore ;) The service was helpful and the breakfast buffet was delicious, with a wide choice of dishes. I'm adding a photo from the balcony, and I highly recommend it!
