Dunas de Doñana

The room was left with its door ajar while we were out, and there was noise throughout the night. The pool area was dirty. At the buffet, choices were limited, the fruit wasn't fresh, the coffee was burnt, and staff were unprofessional and unresponsive. Inside the room, we found bathroom mold, stained bedding, cobwebs in the corners and a strong unpleasant smell. Some lamps were broken. The minibar was empty, the air conditioning didn't work and neither did the WiFi. It's understandable that guests would be disappointed by this. The hotel needs to deal with the room and common-area cleaning and maintenance, secure guest rooms, improve the food and drinks, train staff to respond professionally, and address the noise so people can sleep. Potential guests may want to look at other places in the area. I hope Hotel Dunas de Doñana takes these problems seriously and makes the needed improvements.

The staff were nice and polite, but the cleaners weren't. I was in my room when someone knocked. As I went to answer, the door suddenly burst open and the cleaners came in. They'd come into the room without consent just to check it, at any time. I also left my suitcase closed and found it open, clearly checked by someone. We'd been so eager to stay here, so this was genuinely disappointing. The room was very dirty, the sheets stained and there were bugs in the beds. The microwave had burnt food residue and a strange smell. The buffet was disgusting. Food was burnt or uncooked, and every drink tasted like water, whatever we ordered. Plates and glass cups were filthy enough that we had to clean them ourselves. Breakfast was awful, with food soaked in oil. Lunch and dinner were okay on some days, but on other days we skipped them. Luckily, there was a fast food place nearby where we could order dinner. I'd recommend staying at another hotel.

For the rest, the room was pretty clean and warm, and the hotel is in a beautiful spot. But the couch bed I slept on was very hard and kept cracking. The food was low quality, the plates were dirty and the glasses hadn't been cleaned properly. I left my suitcase shut and came back to find it open. While I was in the room, someone knocked; I went to answer and a second later the cleaner pushed the door open without my consent. The room doors were loud, cracked and broken, and the black plastic piece above the handle kept falling off. When I first arrived and pulled the sheet back, there was a rubber thing on the bed. That made me feel the beds hadn't been properly cleaned or checked. Those are the reasons I gave it a 2.

Really nice spot in a great location, at least from what we managed to see.
