Casa Cascada - Adults only

Casa Cascada itself was spotless, with a gorgeous garden, and looked just as the positive reviews described. I liked the strong commitment to sustainability and was glad to support it. The host and staff were friendly and helpful. It could have been a wonderful stay, but the heating and a few practical details made November less comfortable than I'd expected. The listing said central heating was used in the colder months, which was one reason I booked. The host said he wouldn't turn it on with only a couple of guests, so we used the fireplace every day instead. Nights were around +5 degrees. It was manageable, but working central heating would have made things much easier, and there was no bathroom heating. The internet was usually okay, though it sometimes cut out or slowed right down. I also hadn't expected to pay the deposit in cash on arrival, since my booking confirmation clearly said it should be transferred. The host was flexible about it, and I could withdraw cash from a local ATM a 5-minute drive away and return later. We also had to sign a rental contract in German when we arrived, and take garbage to a municipal collection point 5 minutes away. I'd book the property again, just not during the winter months.
