Peace and quiet were what they advertised, but construction noise was all we heard, day after day, even on Sundays. The village itself is small and has no basic services like a simple supermarket, and the experience with the villagers was the worst I've had on this island. If you're after the rest they promise, look elsewhere. I wouldn't come back even if my life depended on it.
The bypass has cut down on traffic passing through, and the village has plenty of hiking trails with magnificent mountain views. It's a pretty place, and the villagers are friendly and enjoy celebrating. There's also a drumming group. For everyday needs, there are several little shops, two restaurants, a pharmacy, a bank, an outdoor pool, and a church.
We were completely happy with our stay. The surroundings were tidy and really nice, with a garden and barbecue, and it was a perfect holiday spot.
Such a peaceful, fabulous house, just right for a few days of relaxing.
