Bungalows Refugio de Pescadores

There are lots of walks starting right from this lovely forest campsite, and plenty of interesting places to visit in the surrounding area. The pitches are large, the toilets are good, and the staff are very friendly. There's a café bar, though we didn't try it. The price was very reasonable for the end of June, and the no-radio rule kept the site quiet.

So many hiking trails and riverside walks are close by, and the campsite itself is quiet and beautiful. There are spacious pitches that don't leave you right on top of your neighbours, plus bungalows you can rent. The showers and toilets were really clean and well looked after. Paula, the owner, is lovely, and dogs are allowed. Perfect place to camp!

Our GPS sent us to the wrong place after 9pm, past the 8:30pm check-in time. A gentleman drove all the way out to us, then brought us to the campsite and showed us our assigned spot. The site is beautiful and well planned, with friendly, helpful, cheerful staff. The facilities were clean and sturdy, including heated bathrooms, a washing-up area, and lots of solid wooden benches and tables for meals. We only stayed one night on our way to Portugal, but I'd recommend it to anyone who likes nature and quiet.

Alvaro and his team keep this place spotless and in good shape. The grounds are lovely, with plenty of hiking nearby, and there's a nice little village close by with local food. Try the torreno (locally belly pork). Thanks for a great stay, and hopefully see you again soon! Philip
