What put us off was how they handled a simple question. We asked for a photo of the room, or for one to be sent on WhatsApp, so we could see what we'd be paying for. The response was, “Why! What do you want a photo for? Forget it, leave it, we don't want your custom!” Whoever was on reception did us a favor in the end. We'll keep our €160 and spend it somewhere the staff are civil and know how to communicate. This was for a weekend in early September. They asked for our name and phone number, which seemed completely normal, but also wanted our card details a week before the stay. I've stayed at more than a hundred hotels in Europe and never had one insist on that so far in advance.

The owners are happy to help with whatever you need, and breakfast is superb. The rooms are great too. If you visit in winter, give the swing in the winter garden a try!

Alberto and Carmen are a lovely couple, and their hotel has such a welcoming feel that you settle in straight away. The rooms were clean, with really good beds and showers. Breakfast isn't a full English, but there's everything you need to get the day started, including delicious homemade cake, jam, and tomato salsa. We were traveling by motorcycle, so having parking on site was great. Our bikes were safely tucked away out of sight, and the couple's son was even kind enough to help when one needed some unexpected maintenance. The goats next to the house add to the charm.
