Camping La Rueda

The campsite felt very open, with little privacy between pitches, though that may not bother everyone. Facilities were so-so, and the showers could definitely use improvement. Staff were friendly, and the supermarket selection was limited, with more alcohol than groceries. To reach the beach, there’s a short walk along it, but first you have to go down a poorly maintained lane that smells of stagnant water. Once past that, the walk is nice.

Reception were very helpful, and the water was hot and the area clean. It’s handy for the British food market, though the stock there is limited. A quiet spot that worked well for a one-night stopover, but the toilets and showers need refurbishing.

It’s a quiet campsite outside the summer season, in a great spot close to the beach, but it’s expensive. The pool was dirty, parts of the site looked deserted, and most of the campsite badly needs maintenance. Electricity is low power and locked. Forget trying to wash dishes! With a dog beach so close, they should also have a dog shower. We came back after three years and nothing had changed apart from the paint.

The staff were welcoming and spoke good English, and everything was cleaned thoroughly. Our room was spotless when we arrived. It’s a relaxing place for a holiday, very near the beach, with some nice shops nearby for everyday needs.
