We stayed in 2023, and the prints on my wall still bring me straight back to Spain and Cudillero. From our first floor room, the views were amazing by day and at night, when there was music and fireworks. Each time we headed out, we loved finding another route down to the harbor, then wandering little trails and stairs past lemon trees and fountains. The owners are the kindest people. I wish I could live there full time.

The roof terrace gives you an even more spectacular look over the village, especially once the lights come on at night. We stayed in the upper apartment, with a phenomenal view of the village, port, and bay. The place sits at the top of the houses, and it’s a 10 minute walk down the stairs to reach the village. Inside, the rooms are nicely decorated and immediately feel like home. Our lovely host pointed us to good restaurants and places to see in Cudillero. We only had one night, unfortunately, but we’ll definitely return and recommend Apartamentos La Casa del Pintor and Cudillero to everyone we know. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We loved ordering a platter of fresh seafood for two at one of the many tapas bars or outdoor restaurants around the square. Cudillero’s winding lanes are full of little surprises and viewpoints. The best part of Apartamentos Casa del Pintor, though, is its perch above the old fishing village, with views across the terracotta rooftops to the square, old port, and sea. The house was converted from the home and studio of painter Casaus Mecho, and his paintings and sketches, including a few originals, are on the walls. We had an incredible stay in late August and will be back!

Everything we needed was there, and the staff were friendly. It’s a pretty place, decorated with paintings by the artist who used to live there. Perfect.
