A lovely roadside stop. You can eat upstairs in the restaurant or sit in the bar downstairs. They make their own natural wine, so it’s a good place for fans of that. The lamb shanks were amazing if you like that sort of thing, and they’re traditional around here. Everything was cooked solidly, and the prices felt absolutely fair. Compared with other places, this deserves at least four stars.

This place is a little gem tucked away in an unfamiliar part of Spain’s interior, and it’s a great base if you’re touring medieval castles in Castilla. The wine list is especially interesting, with Malaparte wines, so natural wine fans shouldn’t miss it. The restaurant serves traditional dishes that are thoughtfully put together, using excellent ingredients and careful cooking. The Mollejas de Lechazo al Ajillo and Hojaldrito de Puerros stood out, along with the Cochinillo and Lechazo cooked in a traditional oven that’s 100 years old. The handmade dessert menu is so extensive it could almost be a full restaurant menu on its own. The Marrons soup and Achicoria Souffle bring back some of the region’s traditional recipes. The service was amazing too. Definitely a place to visit.

The hotel and restaurant are magnificent. The food is authentic, local, and nicely prepared and presented.

The Malaparte wines are a real highlight. Definitely try the food and wine!
