Paying over 40€ for a room like this felt absurd. The price and quality were wildly out of balance, and the noise from the air conditioning, along with the poor beds and room, made it hard to rest or sleep. A really surreal experience. Sad :/

The staff were as nice as could be, and the bed was comfortable. The TV worked and had an HDMI connection, and they provided toiletries. The location was okay, if not the best, though Cuenca is so small it’s hard to be badly placed. The room felt dirty and old, with a stale, funny smell, like it hadn’t been aired out. It was a bit cold, and the WiFi only worked in the common areas. The shower head didn’t work, so I had to take a bath, and only one bathroom light worked. The price wasn’t justified at all.

For what we paid, the room was a good size, warm enough for January, and had a decent ensuite. Cuenca really does get cold. The decor and comfort aren’t luxurious, but the price was fair and the location was nice and convenient. Ask for a room at the back on the right if you can, since supermarket deliveries can be noisy. The receptionist was lovely and gave us good tips for breakfast at canela across the road and dinner at resturante on Calle san francisc.
