The old town location is the main advantage. Most attractions are nearby, and it's nice for an evening walk. The building is full of history, which gave me a local feel and made it easy to see the local sights. It's also very clean and has everything you need for a stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. Just be ready to speak at least some basic Spanish in Cuenca. My experience was excellent, I'd give it six stars if I could.

After a long motorcycle ride through the rain, that hot shower and really comfortable bed were just what I needed. The staff were friendly, and the building has a lovely historic feel. It's a really nice place right in the heart of the scenic area.

We had lunch at the restaurant at Hostal Rural San Piedro and really enjoyed it. The food and wine were great quality, the prices were low, and the restaurant has a lovely view with white linen on the tables. Service was great too. Highly recommended.

The cleaning lady was very friendly, but getting to our room meant climbing to the third floor by stairs, and nobody had told us that beforehand. The front door wasn't working properly and stayed open around the clock. There was no soap in the shower or hand towels, and although there was a coffee maker, there weren't any cups to use with it.
