NH Ciudad de Cuenca

Breakfast cost 15 euros per person, but there was an incredible variety to choose from. The hotel staff were wonderful, including the receptionists and Ms. Nieves, who served us breakfast. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

I liked being able to explore the local atmosphere on foot. It's about a half-hour walk from the hotel to Cuenca's hanging houses, cathedral and castle area, and I was fine with that. The hotel isn't right in the middle of town, which also helped keep my fairly quiet room. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious and clean, and the shower was good, especially useful when travelling by motorcycle. Nothing fancy, but it had everything I needed. The receptionist who checked me in explained the keys, breakfast and other details, and was friendly and very helpful. Her English was very good, which filled the gaps when my Spanish ran out. Breakfast was very nice, with cereals, fruit, meats, cooked eggs, bacon and more, all well presented in a pleasant dining room. The dining staff were polite and attentive, as were the other hotel staff. Checkout was easy to do online and saved time. I had a really good stay.

The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the staff were warm and gave us useful sightseeing advice. The hotel's location was good, close to the city center and old town. Everything was great, and NH will be our first choice when we return to Cuenca.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast was okay for the price, and there's a bus stop five minutes away with frequent service to Plaza Mayor. This is a large hotel outside the city center, so don't expect to walk everywhere. The rooms are clean and air-conditioned, which is a real plus in summer when some more central hotels have poor air conditioning.
