Beautiful.

The views are incredible, and it’s a beautiful, rustic place in a hard-to-beat location. You can also have breakfast or dinner there. My only gripe was the weak shower tap, which made washing long hair awkward.

Seeing that many stars in the night sky was breathtaking, one of those moments I’ll remember for a long time. We stayed three nights over the July bank holiday weekend for St. James the Apostle's Day and loved the peaceful, beautifully kept place. It felt just right for switching off. Our room was roomy and quiet, with decor that suited the natural setting. Luis looked after us throughout, always friendly and attentive, and gave us great suggestions for things to see and do nearby. We tried both dinner and breakfast and enjoyed each. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the gluten-free options were a real plus. It seems ideal for couples, or anyone after nature, hikes, and some time to unwind. We’ll definitely return.

We were worried after reading so many negative reviews, but our stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The owner was polite and attentive the whole time. Being serious doesn’t make someone unpleasant. The grounds are huge and lovely, with lots of fruit trees and a charming pool. You do have to open the wooden entrance gate by hand, but that’s normal in the countryside. If you expect everything to be automated, the city might suit you better. Breakfast was more than enough for us: a plate with a kind of fritter, 4 pancakes, 4 slices of toast, tomato and olive oil, butter and jam, fruit, juice, and coffee. You could have asked for more, just as at lunch. I don’t know what you eat at home for that to seem skimpy. We also had dinner there on Saturday. We started with scrambled eggs with black pudding and grilled vegetables, a standard dish, then had barbecue wings and sirloin steak with salad. Those were generous servings too. I don’t know what would count as a small portion. They offered us a drink afterward, and we had a wonderful time. If you think food should be thrown away because you’re at a hotel and the plates come on a lid, or expect every door to open with a magnetic key, this probably isn’t for you. The one thing I’d suggest improving is the beds and pillows. That was our only complaint. We didn’t even find bugs in the room, despite what people say, and that’s in the middle of the countryside 😜.
