Casa Rural Villa San Juan

I ended up cancelling the last two nights and finding somewhere else with proper heating. That first night, I slept fully dressed in the cold bedroom and locked the door from inside because I felt so unsettled. I’d booked in November and arrived late after finishing a course in Órgiva. It turned out to be a private house, not a hotel, and the property was locked when I got there. A young man eventually let me through the gate and into the house. The whole place was extremely cold, especially the bedroom. The kitchen was freezing too when I went down to eat. I told the host, and she switched on a very small heater, but it barely helped. I was the only guest there, which felt particularly uncomfortable arriving late at night in a foreign country. After my shower, the bathroom flooded because the shower door was missing a seal. When I later complained, I was asked to prove it, and they accepted no responsibility. The conditions lacked basic comfort, there were maintenance issues, and nobody took accountability. I was very disappointed by the response and by the lack of any effort to acknowledge or fix the problems. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
