The hosts really went out of their way to make my stay special, and they know the nearby hiking trails well. This unique farmhouse in Itziar/Deba has been a highlight of my couple of months travelling around Europe. It was cozy, magical, well equipped, and beautifully designed, just as the name "chill and zen" suggests. With mountains on one side, ocean views on the other, and farm animals around the property, I felt surrounded by nature. Deba is only a 10-minute drive away, and other lovely cities and beach towns in the Basque Country are within an hour by car. Very highly recommended!

We were eight friends, all 28, hoping to get together near the beach, but they wouldn't accept our booking. I can't say what the house is like because we never stayed there. It seemed they might consider pilgrims, or people over 45 travelling with children, more acceptable guests. Then they tried to get us to cancel through Booking.com because bookings there penalize them. That's outrageous. It's a shame, since the place looked worth staying at. I hope people read this and that their awful behavior means they get fewer tourists. I'd attach a screenshot of the conversation, because it says a lot.

We were ten people in an open-plan house with two bedrooms, so four of us ended up sleeping on the sofa. There's a lot that could be improved. At the moment, the place feels unfinished.

It's a simple place, but the spacious living and dining area makes it feel luxurious and very relaxing. There are no neighbours, just quiet and views over the sea and mountains. Since there are no other guests sharing the space, the stay feels unique. The owners live next door and are on hand if you need anything.

We were nine friends there this past weekend and couldn't have had a better time. The house is beautiful, the setting is lovely, and Mariaje, our hostess, gave us exceptional service. Highly recommend it. We'll be back!!
