We rated this place very highly, and the hosts clearly put a lot of work into making guests comfortable. The meals we tried were enjoyable, and the simple breakfast was among the best we've had anywhere. The building feels like a renovated large house in a peaceful village, with a lovely view across the valley to limestone peaks where griffon vultures often roost. Bring binoculars if you have them. It's a remote mountain stay, with another village close enough for a walk through the scenery. Potes is about a 35-minute drive on a winding mountain road. We’re a retired couple, and the rural setting suited us, though you may hear the occasional barking dog or cattle bells. With mostly wood inside and bare floorboards, sound carries between rooms more than in some hotels. Our double bed was standard size and a little small for us at six feet tall. We managed, but next time might ask about twin beds. I don't know whether they have a room with a larger double. There's a restaurant and cosy bar, too. Very much worth a stay.

The winding ride up to this tiny village was great on our motorbikes. The final stretch to the hotel needs first gear, but the hosts had sent us a useful map and video showing how to get there. It's a lovely small rural hotel with fantastic views, about 20 minutes outside Potes, including roughly 10 minutes on the Potes triangle route. That distance keeps it quiet and away from Potes' heavier tourist traffic. The couple running it were warm and helpful, and good at using Google Translate. Breakfast was a nice continental spread with different items each day. Dinner was good value, with enough choice for a few nights, and they catered for my coeliac diet with gluten-free food. I'd recommend it.

The rooms were comfortable, the views stunning, and the family running the hotel gave us a warm welcome. The food was excellent, too. It's hard to call it a hidden gem and then tell everyone to go there. So, if you're after a tourist hotspot, head to the Picos. If it's breathtaking scenery, delicious home-cooked food, and genuinely friendly hospitality you're after, come here. Actually, scratch that, just go to the Picos and don't ruin this place. Excellent.

The breakfast was delicious, and the couple who own the place were incredibly kind, going out of their way for guests. They even helped us get wasps out of our room. We had an amazing stay at this bed and breakfast, tucked into the mountains amid beautiful peaks.

The owners were generous and really kind. When we ran into a few problems, they were ready to help and made sure we were as comfortable as possible during our stay. For a mountain break where you can disconnect, this is a lovely spot. Five stars plus for the view, atmosphere, and food. ¡Muchas gracias!
