New Can Furios Hotel By Can Calco Hotels

Binibona is a tiny hamlet a few kilometres from Inca, tucked into the foothills of the Tramuntana. We stayed a couple of nights on half board, and you do need a car because it’s quite remote, but it’s worth visiting. The little pool area with loungers was lovely for relaxing, and breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice. It was self-service, though you could ask for cooked egg dishes. Dinner was a set menu that changed each night, with a nice selection of mostly local-style food. The room was basic but clean and tidy, with good air-conditioning and a usable fridge stocked with drinks at reasonable prices. Service seemed to be running on a tight budget, and the young servers were a bit stretched, especially when covering reception, but they were very pleasant. A lovely boutique hotel in a beautiful setting.

Sagri, Laura, and the rest of the crew made the atmosphere here what it is. I’ve never come across such warm, delightful people in a hotel, and they’re a real credit to the place. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. Our room was large and had an amazing balcony, and the pool and grounds were immaculate. It’s an absolute gem in a peaceful location at the foot of the mountains, and a great base for exploring the island by car, as we did. A wonderful hotel and stay. Thank you, Sagri and team!

We booked through booking.com for a “double room with a Mountain View,” but at check-in discovered our room had no window, just doors opening onto an outdoor corridor. We couldn’t open them at all. We raised this with the hotel, and they said they couldn’t help, suggesting booking.com had advertised the room incorrectly. When I called booking.com, they said it was a personal offer from the hotel and they couldn’t do anything either. I have claustrophobia, so I paid €85 to upgrade to the only room with a window. The next morning we showed the manager that the room type on their website matched the upstairs room with windows, and she agreed that was what we had booked. But she couldn’t refund the extra charge and said it was an error by central reservations. The whole experience was horrible and bizarre for a four-star hotel. The location feels like the middle of nowhere. I’ll never stay here again, and I wouldn’t trust booking.com.

The rural mountain setting is stunning, and it’s a nice base for exploring. The outdoor area is lovely, and breakfast is good with plenty of variety. The hotel is rustic and charming, but dinner was a letdown: there’s only one set menu to choose from in the evenings, and the portions are very small. You can always eat out instead. The staff were a little slow.
