Eibarrooms

The extra 10 euros or so for breakfast got me a piece of toast, coffee, and juice from the restaurant across the street. I was disappointed, and would have chosen one of the nice places nearby if I’d known. The bedroom Wi-Fi was weak, though the lounge was comfortable and quiet to work in, if a little inconvenient. Eibarrooms is very central in Eibar, close to the train station and bus depot, and check-in is quick without needing to meet anyone. The room was very clean and serviced, the cleaning staff were friendly when I saw them, and even the single room was spacious. I also appreciated having air conditioning when colleagues at other hotels didn't.

Getting the room booked from the USA was a struggle. The system wouldn't take my US credit card, and after several emails they asked me to send a bank transfer. My bank couldn't make SWIFT transfers, and booking that way would have meant extra fees. In the end, my conference organizer booked and paid for me, and I reimbursed them. The location is the hotel's strongest point, but that doesn't make up for everything else. Breakfast costs €8.50 for a small orange juice, small coffee, and pastry at Kontent across the plaza. The staff there seemed reluctant to give me the breakfast I'd paid for. Picoteo's Café on Isasi Kalea offers better value at half the price. The room was clean when I arrived, and the air conditioning worked, but I couldn't find a comfortable setting. It got too cold, so I had to turn it off. Since this is a self-check-in hotel, there isn't staff on site. You can try email for help with transport or anything else, but they only reply during a few hours of the day, if at all. One more thing: don't leave laundry on the floor for the room cleaning. Staff wet-mopped around it without moving or avoiding the clothes, leaving me with a soaking, stinking pile of dirty laundry.

After a car accident left me stranded in Eibar, the welcome at Eibarrooms was wonderful. The rooms were clean and spacious, right in the center and within walking distance of everywhere.

A nice, central place with a spacious room and bathroom. The self check-in was easy. Parking nearby might be a bit hard to find.
