A great-value place, even if it isn't luxurious. The apartment was clean and laid out nicely. It's especially handy for Santander Port, about a 10-minute drive away. There's a really cheap petrol station, Plenergy Carmargo, around 5 minutes away, with Lidl, Aldi and Mercodona supermarkets beside it.

There was no sound insulation, so road-facing rooms get car noise all night, and you can hear noisy neighbors too. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep. The shampoo had expired six months earlier.

The furnished one-bedroom apartments look out over the estuary. The double bed felt too narrow for a larger adult couple, though there's also a sofa that converts into a bed.

Booking showed us a beautiful room, but the one we arrived to was a disaster and completely different. It wasted our time and made for the worst holiday we've ever had.
