Finca El Destino

The studio was clean and the kitchen was well equipped, though the room is smaller than it looks in the photos. The location is fantastic. Our hosts usually replied on WhatsApp and even let us check out 30 minutes late, but when we made a couple of suggestions for improvement, they didn’t answer or come by to see us. I’d also have preferred someone to check our physical ID, since you can’t be sure the details given by you or other guests are accurate. It felt a little unsettling not to see anyone checking people in or out.

The Finca sits right next to the road, and the pool looks out over the reservoir. We spent a weekend there with my partner and loved it. The room had all we needed: a double bed, small sitting area with a TV, kitchen, bathroom, and a little terrace with two chairs. The refrigerator and air conditioning were nice extras. The small pool is shared with the other guests, and has three comfortable loungers. The owners were friendly and attentive the whole time. We hope to return.

The room could have been much better for the price. It was dark, smelled musty, had cobwebs, and wasn’t clean. The mattress was uncomfortable and clearly used. The owner wasn’t very friendly either. She came to ask us to move our car because visitors needed to park, but didn’t introduce herself or say who she was. I moved it without any issue. What bothered me most was her poor manners and the room’s cleanliness. They should provide better service for what they charge.

The pool is small, but enough to cool off in summer, and the view of the reservoir is lovely. The owners were welcoming and very friendly during our wonderful four-day stay at this one-of-a-kind place. It’s a great spot to get away from the bustle and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The churros in the village are delicious.
