El Jardin Camping

We only stopped to drop off a van, and reception gave us a friendly, helpful welcome. The place looked tidy and well organised, with lovely clean toilets. Just be aware that moving around is tricky without a motor mover: the access roads leave very little margin for turning, and backing onto a pitch seems nearly impossible unless the pitch across from it is empty. Even then, it would be a hard manoeuvre, so you may have to do it by hand. I assume there may be space set aside for larger units.

Muchavista beach is within walking distance, with nice cafés nearby and regular trams to different places. The site has a lovely pool and sunbeds, and the toilets and shower area are fantastically clean. The bar is pleasant, though the food was just okay, the sort of thing you try on night one and then look for something better. There isn't much I'd change, and I can see why others would give it five stars, especially if they don't have dogs. We spent five nights here at the end of a four-week camping trip through Spain and Portugal. The longer-term residents didn't really talk or even offer a holiday hello, which affected the atmosphere for me. It would have mattered less on a one-night stop. The person who welcomed us at reception was great, but after that, staff at reception or working nearby didn't even say good morning. When I asked about the washing machine, the response was rather curt and without much warmth. We get up early to walk our dogs, so a simple good morning, or buenos días, would've been nice.

On my first camping trip, I couldn't have asked for a better site. We picked a quiet corner, but still had access to all the amenities. The grounds are well looked after, and the toilets are usually clean.

There were lots of families, and it was really busy when we arrived during peak holiday season. Now it's quieter and more relaxed. The pool is always super clean, and the staff are very friendly :)
