El Hotelito Del Golfo

A small, cute B&B in very relaxing El Golfo, probably the quietest part of Lanzarote. The place has around 8 or 10 rooms spread across different parts of the property. Ours was clean and bright, with a large bathroom. Breakfast is simple, with lots of little choices, and there’s a small pool for cooling off during your hotel days. The staff were kind and friendly. We miss it and will definitely return. If you want a break from everyday life, this is the spot.

I wasn’t feeling well enough to keep travelling, and they kindly let us continue using the facilities after we’d checked out. Such a nice gesture. It’s a beautiful place too, with friendly staff and a good breakfast :)

The pool and sunbathing area were probably the best part: the chairs were comfortable and well spaced, and the saltwater pool, while small, was deep and clean. The hotel is well maintained and looks just like the photos. The rooms are nice, especially one with a balcony. Breakfast was a small continental buffet each morning and one of the hotel’s better features. The downside was the double bed, which was two single mattresses pushed together, making it uncomfortable to sleep near the middle.

El Golfo is a very quiet village, and at night there weren’t many places to eat: quite a few restaurants were closed or only open during the day when tourists were around. Everything shut by 9 pm or even earlier, so don’t count on a late, leisurely dinner. There’s a lovely walk from the village down to Playa el Paso along the coastal lava fields, then back inland by a couple of volcanoes. The green lake is there too, and the hotel is well placed for easy access to the National park. We stayed in Room 5. It was clean, with a large bed, extra pillows if needed, a good shower, a small balcony with a partial sea view, a fridge, and plenty of wardrobe space. Breakfast was included and you could eat inside or on the veranda. It was a continental spread of bread, cheese, meat, yoghurt, fruit, jam, cake, and eggs cooked differently each day. We didn’t use the pool because it was a bit chilly, but the area looked very nice. It’s a small, friendly hotel.
