Hotel Llar De Capitans

My visit to Barcelona was overshadowed by how stressful and unpleasant this stay became. I’ve traveled to more than 75 cities worldwide, and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I faced what felt like intimidation, including the police being involved over matters that should have been handled through customer service. The management came across as defensive and confrontational instead of dealing with problems professionally, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and hostile. The hotel seemed more focused on its online reputation than on improving its facilities or treating guests respectfully. It also felt like effort was going into polishing its image with positive reviews instead of improving service, cleanliness, and facilities. I wish I’d read the negative reviews more carefully before booking. I hope future guests read them all, since what they find after arriving may not match what they saw online.

There are lots of tapas restaurants just a few blocks away, and the beach is across the street. The train station is nearby too. The accommodations were good, and the marvelous hosts, young owners, were willing to go the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. No service is taken lightly.

We booked a sea-view room and ended up in the basement, with a dirty window and a broken air conditioner. When we complained and asked them to fix the AC or give us a refund, they called the police on us. This place felt misleading and discriminatory, and completely unfit for guests. Avoid it at all costs. You’ll absolutely regret staying here.

The hosts made us feel very welcome, and we enjoyed our two-night stay. Our room and bathroom were large. The hotel overlooks a beautiful beach with lovely sand and blue water, and it’s well placed for taking the train to Barcelona, which is better than driving in.
