Hostel La Casa Encantada

The staff are some of the best, always kind and ready to help make your stay comfortable. The owner is lovely too, helpful and sometimes up for a beer and a chat. People from different countries make for a great cultural exchange, and sometimes everyone cooks together, which feels like being part of a big family. You can join in or not, but everyone makes you feel welcome. It's a cozy, familiar hostel with clean, comfortable rooms and a clean, roomy kitchen and common area for reading, relaxing or spending time with the other guests. It's sociable but not a party place, and you can rest when you want or head to the terrace for wine or beer and a chat. The prices are cheap and fair, and great things happen here. Maybe it really is enchanted, in a good way. The location is one of the best on the island, with mountains right nearby and beaches and other good places to visit not far off. I really recommend staying at this awesome hostel. You won't forget the stay or all the great people you meet. Thank you for a great visit! ¡Hasta la próxima vez!

The location on the island worked really well, with points of interest reachable in a reasonable amount of time. There are nice walks nearby, and El Paso is one of the island's nicer little villages, with good infrastructure for banks, shopping and gastronomy. The kitchen is well equipped, with a nice range of shared items like spices, bread and vegetables. The owners care about the environment and the island's scarce resources, and you are asked to sort your waste in the kitchen. I liked that, but if sustainable practices bother you, this may not be the place for you. The building is old, so sound carries through the doors and there's no perfect noise isolation. Most people should be fine, but light sleepers may want ear plugs. At busy times the kitchen and social room can get packed. We met only kind, respectful guests, and enjoyed chatting and sharing local wine, though anyone wanting peace and quiet should avoid those hours. The rooms are simple, but have more character than an average hostel, with art and charming details. Shared bathrooms stayed very clean. The kitchen and common room are lovely, and it seems to draw good people. We met people from around the world and across age groups. The thoughtfully arranged roof terrace has a great view and is a nice place to hang out. Staff and owners are lovely, attentive and very helpful. I've never been a big hostel fan, but if they were all like this one, I certainly would be. It's a charming little place with a great atmosphere. We spent ten days there and will definitely return. Best hostel I've stayed at.

The volunteers are lovely, and there's good energy here. The hostel has everything you need, including three bathrooms and a really nice big kitchen where you meet friendly people and pirates. After a hike, the sun terrace is just right. There's live music in town every Friday, and by car it's only 15 minutes to the beach or Los Llanos City. A great place to stay for more than one night, highly recommend.

The terrace is beautiful, and the views from the roof are nice. Right in the center of El Paso, the hostel is perfectly placed, with kind people and volunteers. Rooms and beds are okay, nothing to complain about.
