Albergue San Jose De Los Llanos

We had a really enjoyable stay. Leticia was kind, helpful, and full of information about nearby trails. The place is lovely, clean, and well equipped, and breakfast was excellent. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The location is the one reason to stay here if you’re going hiking. Otherwise, I don’t think it’s worth the price. It was very cold, with no heaters, and damp enough that clothes I left on the bed felt wet after a few hours. There was no real way to warm up, and parts of the room walls had mold. The owner also wasn’t very nice: when I tried to book a second time, she wanted to charge me more, and her messages were rude. Vinos has nicer accommodation for the same price.

Leticia made my two-night stay feel very welcoming, and her hiking suggestions, including Chinyero, were really helpful. She can also make dinner and put together a lunch to take on a hike for a small fee. The hostel is peaceful, in a quiet village you can reach by public transport. I loved staying here. They serve a hot dish every day, and there are lots of hiking trails very close by, so it’s a great spot if you love hiking. The people were friendly, and they were fine with me staying a little past checkout because I had work to finish. Five stars from me.
