Posada Peñarrubia

The noise was so constant and loud, day and night, that sleeping was barely possible. Neither the staff nor the other hotel and bar guests seemed to show any consideration. This ruined what might otherwise have been a positive experience. I've never stayed in a hotel that noisy.

I've visited several times and it never disappoints. For somewhere so spectacular and wild, this bar and small restaurant is outstanding. There's a very good choice of raciones and main courses, plus a little shop for grocery basics and excellent beer served properly cold. It's the only bar in the village, but that hasn't made them slack. When it's hot, I'd suggest walking down to the river Segura for a swim and back. That cold beer at Peña tastes even better afterwards. I haven't stayed at the hotel yet, but I'm sure I will.

I arrived very late, after 23h, while touring the region by motorbike and looking for a place to stop before continuing my trip. They still served me a lovely dinner and took special care of me.

Their Menu of the day is excellent, and if you like tapas, it's a nice change.
