The kids made good use of the pool, which was cleaned during our stay, and we loved having so many garden chairs and places to sit outside. There was covered space for three cars, with room for two more, and the village location just off the fast road made getting around by car easy. Inside, the rooms and all those sitting areas made the house feel huge, though its quirky layout took a while to get used to. We had plenty of hot water throughout, soft white towels, and a very clean house. Soap, shampoo, bubble bath, dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid were supplied, along with a bowl of fruit and ice cream in the freezer. The kitchen was unusually well stocked, with lots of crockery, cutlery and utensils in good condition. Our family of 12, Grandma, her three daughters, their husbands and children aged 11-16, used the big wooden table, which seats 16, for dinner most nights. A few things bothered us. The hunting trophies on the walls made us feel sorry for the animals, though we'd seen them in the online photos beforehand. The artwork and ornaments everywhere also made the place feel cluttered. There was no kettle, so luckily we'd brought two, and a retractable washing line in the garden would be useful. The automatic lawn mower entertained the younger children, but left clippings behind, so we had to take our shoes off at the door to avoid tracking grass through the house.
