La Masía de Formentera

We choose carefully where to stay whenever we visit Formentera, and this place worked out well again. We had a few issues, but sometimes things happen. The room photos may look a little nicer, or there may be better ones than the pictures we took, but I'd still recommend coming here to enjoy Formentera. It's adults only, with 10 apartments in the house. Even though it's beside the main road, you don't hear any noise at any time. At least a couple of apartments have private jacuzzis, and there's a large first-floor suite with a sea view; the sea isn't far away. The regular apartments have a small private patio with an outdoor sofa and low wooden table, a little kitchen where you can cook with a small fridge, a small living room with a TV and sofa, and an indoor, tatami-style bedroom. There's also a small bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is included and normally brought to your room. You pick what you want from a wide list of healthy amenities and choose the serving time, then leave your request at reception the night before. You can also ask to have it served by the pool. The shared area has a pool, jacuzzi, a small self-service bar, Balinese beds, a shared toilet and shower, and a yoga area with yoga equipment and weights. All in all, an excellent choice. For reference, the regular apartment for two was €246 a night.

I felt completely at ease here. The hotel has such a peaceful atmosphere, and the pool area and apartment are both lovely and thoughtfully designed. Leandro was a wonderfully attentive host, always ready to help and full of ideas for things to see around the island. One of the warmest and most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in. A must-see!

We were so impressed with La Masia and already want to return after our week there. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, with a private terrace where breakfast was a treat. Everything we needed was nearby, too. From the moment we arrived, Leandro made us feel at home and shared great recommendations and his knowledge of the island.

We loved the quiet little oasis tucked among the lavender, and the care in all the small details. We even came back to spend time in the gardens after checking out, since Leandro kept assuring us we were welcome. The hot tub could have been warmer, though, which made it a bit underwhelming. We stayed in October 2019, when it was still warm but much quieter on the island, and brought our little yorkie. We were all made very welcome. Leandro, the manager, was the real highlight: from our arrival he treated us as if he’d known us for years, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The staff were always smiling, respectful, and helpful. To me, a five-star rating means little without that warmth and friendliness. This place deserves to be called a five-star hotel. Apart from the hot tub, 10/10.
