The restaurant downstairs has to be the best one I've eaten at in Spain across all my years of travel. Just wow. I spent one night at Posada Elbete while walking El Camino de Baztan. The place is beautiful and clean, and the owners are super friendly.

We stopped here while cycling into Spain, and what a find. The little village is full of life, with this gem of a hotel and restaurant right in the center. Our room was really comfortable, full of character, and decorated in a traditional style with lots of wood. We had possibly the best steak we've had in a long time, a magnificent tomahawk/Côtes de Boeuf.

I returned for dinner that night and had the combo steak meal. It was delicious, and only 14.50 with a beer. Definitely patronize this place, even if it's just for a meal. After getting injured while walking the GR11, I found every hotel room within 30 miles fully booked. I wasn't even a customer, but Carlos went out of his way to help me find a room in town. That was incredibly kind, and without his help I'd have been up a creek.
