The hotel has lovely decor and plenty of potential, but our two single beds had just been pushed together, which wasn’t what we paid for. We were on the first floor and could hear everything. Between the noise and the mattress, we had a very poor night’s sleep.

A really pleasant surprise. They’ve earned all five stars!

We walked up the hill to dine at Hotel Treixas, and it was definitely worth it. The welcome was warm, friendly and accommodating, and the cosy, comfortable atmosphere had a funky finish. The food was delicious and there was plenty of wine. It wasn’t overpriced like some boutique hotels can be. We had our seven-month-old with us, and the staff Isabella and Stephanie, if I remember their names right, couldn’t have done more for us.

The spa seems worth trying in winter. This is a fantastic rural hotel in the middle of Sanabria old town, with big, cosy rooms. The decoration isn’t the best, and the breakfast isn’t either.

We loved our stay. It was wonderful and cosy, the staff were lovely, and the beds were so comfortable.
